GAPE No.O
PH-oo1
March 2021
A visual-poetic meditation on fisting, holes and the work of Geoff Mains. Rethinking citation, influence, impression. Textual bodies which interpenetrate and envelope one another.
GAPE centers on a fisting scene excerpted from Geoff Mains' Urban Aboriginals: A Celebration of Leathersexuality originally published by Gay Sunshine Press in 1984.
The text emerges through a series of hand-cut holes in the zine, while commentary accumulates on the reverse of each page and in the margins. The center signature is unbound and consists of a gatefold that opens into a double-wide print.
